Bill Hub
Bill started in the hotel/restaurant management business out of college, but decided that the long hours took him away from his family too much. Even as a boy, Bill loved to save coins, stamps, and anything else of value that he could collect. Leaving the restaurant business gave Bill the opportunity to buy a jewelry and coin business called The Silver and Gold Shop at Lake Tahoe in 1984. Hard assets were his passion, and he became an expert at grading diamonds and colored gems. Soon Bill was buying out estates and jewelry stores that were going out of business. He developed a reputation for giving very fair prices, both paying more to those who wanted to sell their jewelry, and charging lower prices for those wanting to buy. As a result, the store which started with his wife’s five rings and some coins, grew to full capacity, supplying a dozen other jewelry stores. Bill’s reputation for being very fair with both the buying and selling of diamonds, colored stones and precious metals has made him a highly respected and liked member of the local community. Through the years Bill has been extremely generous with his time and resources, supporting the local charities and sponsoring as well as coaching teams in all sports.

John Hub
As the Silver and Gold Shop became more of a wholesaler to other jewelry stores and dealers, there was still a demand by the public for high quality low-priced jewelry. This led Bill’s brother John to buy a larger storefront, making jewelry at wholesale prices more assessable to the public. Hub Bros. Jewelry opened in August of 2005 with the idea of selling jewelry at unbeatable prices, having a wide selection of new and estate jewelry available in all price ranges, and being a full-service jewelry store. John’s previous experience includes Banking, Real Estate, Jewelry store management, and GIA certification. Hub Bros jewelry under John’s guidance has developed into a full service jewelry store, meeting the needs of our local and national clientele with an emphasis on providing reliable, honest, quality services and products to our customers of any budget.

John Roxburgh
With Hub Bros. becoming a full-service jewelry store, the need arose for a full-time jeweler. At the very same time the need arose, John Roxburgh walked in the door having just completed four years of training under a Senior Master Bench Jeweler (one of 125 in the U.S.A). John’s skills include the ability to do most any repair, custom work, and jewelry design, and his no non-sense approach makes sure that the job is done right, the first time. He also has brought customer service skills which can help the most novice jewelry buyer find just the right gift, or the discerning investor find just the right diamond. John performs many of the managerial functions of the store, and also stresses a high level of quality, integrity and honesty for all of Hub Bros’. services. When he is not at the store, John can be found spending time with his wife of 10 years and their 6 year old son.
